Welcome to the Hernan Cortes Hotel - If you like well-situated hotels, right in the commercial and touristic centre of the town, we are the only Four-star in the heart of Gijón, in a very quiet street with a low level of traffic, 50 m from Seis de Agosto Square and Corrida and Moros Streets, which are the historical centre of Gijón.
Do not get confused about the centric situation of other four-star hotels, as most of them are 2 km from the centre; you can check that in the most famous and international Red Guide, in which those hotels are not present.
If you are attending a congress on your own we recommend you to choose those hotels, as the "Feria de Muestras" is very close and 3 km from Hotel Hernán Cortés; but if you are not coming alone, you will be very pleased to be in the centre.
We present you with a 50-page guide about Gastronomy and Excursions in Asturias, which will make your business trip or holiday easier. You can also watch that on the television set in your room in the channel "Asturias in images", with more than 900 photographs.
In our guide we recommend almost a hundred typical dishes that can be tasted in Restaurants which are close to the Hotel, so you can forget the disadvantages of driving.

We refer to our to our Suite and Luxe rooms as being 5 star, as their size amply exceeds the minimum dimensions required by the Regulations for this classification, in addition to which most of these rooms boast King-Size beds.
In June 2005, in the same building as our hotel will be inaugurated the Casino of Asturias, featuring a game room, Café-Restaurant, a multipurpose Nightclub and a Film Museum including a Meeting and Projection Room. All these facilities will improve the high-quality services of our hotel.
The Hotel is a very quiet one, as we only admit individual clients and very personalized business groups.
