This hotel has a stellar location right in the heart of Barcelona’s business and cultural centre, less than a block away from Passeig de Grŕcia and with a view onto Gaudí’s La Pedrera. The Omm looks great on paper and offers everything a guest could want in a hotel. However, you should be aware that this one of Barcelona’s new designer hotels, modern and fashionable to the max – and trendiness is an expensive attribute these days.
The minds behind the Omm aim to create an atmosphere where luxury isn’t just a look but an experience. And it seems as though they have succeeded – the hotel emanates the type of exclusivity that might strike some as intimidating. The Omm is more than just a collection of hotel rooms – it is also home to a supremely hip dance club hosting many live acts, with a very strict admission’s policy, of course.
The hotel has 58 rooms and 1 suite. They are all decorated in light and elegant colours that contrast nicely with the dark hallways. The rooms are full of surprising details; for example, the bed’s headboard doubles as an excellent work desk! The terrace is a great observation deck with a shallow pool – a lovely spot to relax in the summer while gazing at the Casa Milŕ towers. This is definitely one of the most luxurious places to be found in the heart of Barcelona.
The Omm is also well-known for its restaurant Moo. The secret behind the Moo are the Roca brothers – definitely a familiar duo to anyone up to speed with the culinary world. The Roca brothers have run El Celler de Can Roca in Girona for many years, a restaurant considered one of the best in all of Spain. One thing you shouldn’t expect at the Moo is ordinary dishes. Although the quality of the dishes is undisputable, it does seem as though innovation seems to go hand in hand with extravagance.
